I sought the challenge of capturing the timeless essence of Celtic spirituality and its profound atmosphere and translating it into a modern, individual soundscape. It is the magical combination of classical foundations and contemporary elements that gives this work not only formal coherence but also a penetrating, spiritual presence.

Painting as sensual resonance – In dialogue with music and Kottingbrunn moated castle
Freelance artist Birgit Risavy presents her works in the historic setting of Kottingbrunn Water Castle, an important cultural center in Lower Austria. Her paintings, which range from precise printmaking to atmospheric impressionistic oil paintings, are an expression of emotion and aesthetic sensibility. The artist has translated her thematic images, known as the "Seven Moments of Life" (rendered in watercolor, oil, acrylic, graphics, etc.), into visual narratives. An exhibition catalog is also available separately with the CD.
Musical resonance
In collaboration with pianist Thilo Plaesser, these visual works found their counterpart in musical timbres—improvised and composed pieces in seven different themes and styles.

Tango meets Gregorian chant
Enthusiasm and spontaneity
The close, appreciative friendship (AMICI) between Laurentius Schlieker and Thilo Plaesser has existed since 1985 and is the creative source for numerous joint concerts and projects. A special event in 2013 was the improvisation concert "Tango & Gregorian Chant" at Gerleve Abbey, whose music forms the basis for this CD recording. The joy of playing and spontaneity of Thilo Plaesser's improvisations are uniquely combined here with the vocal performance of Abbot Laurentius Schlieker, who, as an authentic connoisseur, performs the interpreted chants "firsthand," so to speak.
