A compendium about Mahalia Jackson
This compendium is aimed equally at musicologists, musicians, and all lovers of Mahalia Jackson's music, her life, and her impressive legacy. My work focuses on remembering, preserving, and reappraising her work. This project is based on my extensive private collection, which includes countless books, records, CDs, cassettes, DVDs, original photos, programs, magazines, and much more, which primarily serve as sources for the texts and articles published here.
Teofil Kotykiewicz - Harmonium maker
The Viennese harmonium maker Teofil Kotykiewicz is known worldwide for having built instruments of exceptional quality.
His preserved instruments are scattered all over the world. Tracking down and documenting these harmonies is an essential part of this project! I have digitized and made accessible the entire estate of Teofil Kotykiewicz, which is kept at the Vienna Technical Museum. I regularly receive questions from all over the world about these instruments: year of manufacture, whereabouts of instruments, technical questions about repairs, etc. My project is a living project for sharing experience and knowledge.
